pickA very readable & enjoyable memoir. The writing is very good, warm & engaging. The sections about the author's father & his death are particularly moving. Other parts-the author's life after leaving home, where she lived, her relationships-were interesting but not fascinating. Wish there'd been more on how she dealt with the Lynch syndrome diagnosis as I found that part the strongest. I also loved the implied hope/resilience in the closing line.

Such a honest and funny book about the importance of family and accepting who you truly are.
Just went to see Jean Hannah Edelstein in conversation with Olivia Laing in London and it was an awesome event!! I wasn‘t that aware of this new book (kind of a medical memoir but also funny heart rending a Bildungsroman family memoir) before but the readings were amazing, hilarious and deep and struck the perfect balance between light and dark. Really recommend it! Excited to get to read it soon
