I found this hard to follow at times but I think it‘s my fault, not the author‘s. I‘ve never been able to completely grasp the political happenings leading to World War 1 or 2.

I had been waiting to read this series until the third/final volume came out. Then I got tired of waiting and requested it from the library anyways. Lucky timing, as when I put in my review on goodreads, I found out volume 3 was released earlier this month! I can‘t wait to read the rest of this series. Visually stunning, both grand and personal in scale. Brings Weimar Berlin to life. This is why I need to read more comics.
I have a couple hours to kill and a stack of books 📚👍
This first part of Jason Lutes' trilogy covers the time period between September 1928 and May 1929 in Berlin. It's a very atmospheric graphic novel about every day life in Berlin across different religions, different political movements, and different social classes. I'll definitely read the second part soon.
