Lutz is really in a groove with the Spellmans - the antics keep getting zanier, the cases keep getting more interesting, and the writing is as hilarious as ever. The missing household hardware in this one was just so bizarre but was nicely balanced by Maggie/Rae/Isabel working on the cases of wrongly-convicted men. Things are certainly coming to a head in this family - but there's still 2 books to go...

TheKidUpstairs I keep meaning to give these books a go... 2y

The spell may finally be broken at the end of this 4th Spellman book. Still funny, still entertaining but getting a little self-referential and repetitive. Of course I'll go on to read the last two, because that how I roll, but I'm not sure there's a way back from this.

After 3 Spellman Files books in a row, I spent the last two weeks reading some highbrow stuff (sorry, no pictures... they were free on Serial Reader). I feared I was going soft on my literary habits. Then I picked this one up and face-palmed myself within the first few chapters because IT'S SO DAMN FUN! Why did I wait this long? I love you, Izzy! #aprilreads #offmyhighbrowhorse #spellmanfiles

I LOVE the Spellmans! This series is like your favorite kind of comfort food, it's becoming my go to after a long day. I just finished book 4 and each book has been as good as the last in the series! Also, the footnotes are hilarious!
