The story Whale in a Fishbowl is a children‘s literature story with a deep message about animal captivity. This story is about a whale named Wednesday living in a small fishbowl in the middle of the city. The whale knows there is something missing in her life, but isn‘t sure what. Wednesday meets a young girl who gives her a message that she is supposed to be in the sea, and Wednesday must figure out her way to the sea. #ucflae3414f19

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Whale-in-a-Fishbowl-by-Troy-Howell-a... this lesson plan is a great way to divide the story up into a 3-4 day duscussion about the book and discussing animal captivity. It can be done in whole or small group lessons.

Shannyblake The UDL guidelines I choose is promote expectations and beliefs that optimize motivation (9.1) since I would be opening students up to new ideas about animal captivity. The ESOL strategy I would use is give enough wait time for second language learners to respond to questions.

DrSpalding This sounds like a very sweet story. Nice alignment. I am adding this to my stack. (edited) 5y
