I've put my photo of a Stockholm tram in a 1920s filter, which almost fits this super noir crime fiction (set in the 1930s, but there was no 1930s filter...)

I requested that the library purchase this right before the pandemic and then forgot about it. This first of a trilogy is gritty noir set in Sweden in 1932, with a queer protagonist. So yeah, I‘m pretty sure it‘s a one-of-a-kind!😄 #lgbtqia #nelson #dogsoflitsy
I'm calling it a day on this one (179 pages, somewhere between bailed and so-so). I admire the descriptions and noir details of 1930s Stockholm (author studied history). Wry protagonist darkly sympathetic. But the care taken to describe the settings stifles the action. He encounters people in his search for 'Sonja the bandy-legged whore' but has no strong connections. Very gritty. One for noir fans to try.
Going to Stockholm with this gritty but compelling read... "A few degrees colder and it would be snowing instead." #photoadaynov16 #chillyreads
This is next in my mini crime binge 😉🕵. Fen is extraordinary. Shelter and Marie sound fabulous too and sit on my shelf, looking at me. When to fit all of these in? 📚😬 #photoadayNov16 #onewordtitles
Noir set in Stockholm in the 1930s, with an ex-boxer as a reluctant detective trying to clear his name. Some events regarding consent may be triggering. NetGalley ARC.
