Hilda sets out to learn the secrets of the Midnight Giant in this new edition of the bestselling graphic novel! When creatures bombards Hilda's house with eviction notices, she has to think twice before making their acquaintance. Come to think of it, who is this giant who only appears at midnight, and why is Hilda the only person who can see him? Now becoming available in paperback for the first time, Luke Pearsons stories of the rambunctious and adorable Hilda are currently in television development with Silvergate Media, the production company responsible for the Octonauts and Peter Rabbit cartoons!

Such a cute book. Loving the series so far. In this one Hilda and her mom are getting threatening letters from elves to move out of their house. Hilda keeps seeing the giant but it runs away when her mother is called. So its two stories in one book. Hilda goes on a mission to save her house and to figure out what the giant is doing as well. Love the illustrations and the characters. The ending was happy and sad.

Valentine‘s Day gift from Grandma and Grandpa! A bit longer than the first book so Little Dude had trouble sitting still for all of it but he loved the pictures and had some great reactions to the story. These books are so cute!

Pictures of the newly renovated library branch! So fresh and clean and full of new book smells. 😍

The 2nd Hilda book is just as delightful as the first. If you‘re not familiar with the Netflix series, Hilda and her mom live in the remote 🏔, surrounded by hidden people, rock trolls and giants. It has a very Scandinavian feel to it.

AlaMich Your library looks lovely! 5y
TalecArashi That's such a nice library, oh man 5y
alisiakae @AlaMich @TalecArashi Thanks! It was desperately in need of an upgrade, and had been closed for the past 1 1/2 years to complete this major renovation. So happy to have it back open again, since it is the branch of the county library system that is closest to my home. 5y
TalecArashi @4thhouseontheleft wow, that's a serious renovation! :O glad the wait paid off. 5y

Book 2 and still just as adorable, this time around we learn about the little invisible people and the giants who roamed the world of old. The art starts to appear a little different in this volume but still holds that magical feeling. The story of the giants was so absolutely sweet, I loved it in the show and the book held the same feelings.

Love the series & the novelized collection. May have to track down the original comics as well.

This is the best graphic novel/picture book starring angry invisible tiny people and a mountainous nighttime giant you will ever find. And Hilda befriends them all, large and small. Super fun and actually amazingly sweet. I love Hilda!

This was sweet but didn't blow me away like Hildafolk did. Things aren't as wonderfully weird in Hilda's world in this entry as they were in the first. Also I don't think Pearson was as restrained in his colour palette here (I don't have a copy so can't check to confirm) and that means the art doesn't pop off the page quite as much.
