Set in the art world of Paris a young woman struggles to make her way. I wanted to love it but I didn't. It was fine. I'm struggling to find books with characters that grab you & make you love or hate them. Suggestions?

While I never knew any of the characters enough to really care about them, this book sparked my interest enough to make me seek other books about Paris/Europe in the same time period. The descriptions were lovely and I could easily imagine the people, clothing, sorrow dings, and paintings that were portrayed. I'd rate this as a good book, but not a must read. While I was interested in the characters' lives, I was never really invested.
