Allowing myself a glass of rosé to celebrate finishing my first book in French! This is the autobiographical story of an Iranian artist who accidentally incites an insurrection with a drawing for kids. He‘s imprisoned and tries to find a way to escape to safety (which as any immigré knows, involves a lot of waiting around on bureaucracy). It has a wry, dark sense of humor and is also a moving story of his love for his wife, who comes with him.
queerbookreader VERY EXCITING BRAVO I have my French copy of HP 1 sitting in my room and it's still way too intimidating 😭 7y
alisahar @queerbookreader I‘d be intimidated by HP1! This one was much more manageable. 7y
CouronneDhiver Awesome! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I‘m getting back into some French books now too. 7y
alisahar @CouronneDhiver do you have any recommendations? (For a very beginner reader!) 7y
