Can I Build Another Me?
Can I Build Another Me? | Shinsuke Yoshitake
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Can I Build Another Me? follows a child's hilarious, wildly inventive train of thought as he decides to make a clone of himself - and starts to ponder what makes him HIM. Is it the scar on his knee or his sticky palms? Is it his love of acorns or the way he winks? The more he thinks about it, the more complicated it becomes..

Yoshitake's books are all over bookstores in Tokyo now so I was thrilled to find one in English at the library (i think several have been translated but i haven't seen them all). They are kinda picture books for adults but still enjoyable for kids. Here a boy learns how complicated and unique he actually is when he tries to get a robot to act as his replica. Here's an illustration I loved. #mommyreads #Japanese #picturebooks

Of course the day I decide I should just read books that already live in my house for awhile, we join a new library and come home with as many books as the stroller can carry 😂 this one had even more in English, especially translations by Japanese authors. I had no idea Kitano Takeshi (Boy) wrote books as well 😍 #mommyreads #babyreads #Japan #nihongo #boardbooks #picturebooks
