so-soMy bf and me read this book to each other and it was a lot of fun sharing a book this way... the story was quite intriguing if a bit slow at the beginning. We enjoyed it but unfortunately the n-word could be found in the text and that left a stale aftertaste. It was not only the POC character who used the term himself but also the author when describing him 🤢 It was written in the 1960‘s which is an explanation but not an excuse for that...
