Pickpick

In the Small Small Pond by Denise Fleming 1993 Caldecott Honer. This book showcases many rhyming words. The imagery was bright with water colors drawing the eyes to the main animal focal point. It provokes a sense of light heartened imagery causing a kind of sleepy rhyme.

In the Small, Small Pond was the Caldecott winner in 1994. There‘s isn‘t much of a story line to this book, but has beautiful illustrations and reminds me of Erik Carlson

“Sweep, swoop, swallows, scoop“

I think this book would be best used by young children, I believe the sound words would capture their attention and keep them engaged in the story, the plot is simple but the catchy story and bright pictures would be great for young children

In the small, small, pond- this RA CL HF Caldecott book is about a frog that takes us readers on a tour like of the small, small pond interrupting the other animals around. As the seasons pass, all the other animals and bugs come out. https://readaloudrevival.com/ EL: Reinforce the key ideas you present again and again.
