A Dark Comedy Full Of Family Drama. 4/5
The Plot was intriguing. I am loving Family Sagas lately. I always find reading about complex family relationships particularly appealing.
I loved the layout of the chapters as well. Allowing the characters to tell their stories.
So much goes on in these families lives with a drug deal gone bad. The rollercoaster motion it sets off is intense to watch unravel!

Frumkin's novel consists of connected short stories which tell the story of a family impacted by the drug world. I love the idea of getting more info about specific events through the lens of different characters, but each chapter just left me plain confused. I was turned off by the repetitiveness and the overabundance of details about side characters that didn't add anything to the story. This was just really disappointing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #NetGalley

A good book that suffers from over complication (read: too many characters named Leland or Lee).

Found this while looking for a book with a colourful cover. The cover is actually decieving to a much darker plotline. Might actually read this one day.

Got my first #PageHabit box! I won a free extra book with my purchase, so I figured I‘d give it a go. Definitely quality stuff in here! The tote is super cute, a nice bookmark, and a cute wooden pencil with a kitty. I‘m excited to read both The Comedown and Radio Free Vermont with the post-it annotations from the author. I probably wouldn‘t have picked these books on my own, but they seem interesting enough! #mypagehabit

tammysue Super! I should try this out 😁 7y

ARC from NetGalley. I don‘t know what I think. I loved the main plot and the way it read like Did You Ever Have A Family or the movie Crash, exploring the way different lives are interconnected by one single event or person, and the ramifications on each person. Her writing is excellent and I loved her respect for Judaism. But the extended backstories of each character was tedious and annoying. This is a book you‘ll love or hate. No in-between.
