Pickpick

Independence Cake by Deborah Hopkinson is a historical fiction picture book I will use for guided reading as the story is lengthy and tricky. This is a story based off of a true story about a little girl who is making a cake for her president to come and eat with her.

ChristinB I will utlize UDL 2.3 and support the decoding of text throughtout the guided reading process. As well as ESOL strategy 1 teach questioning for clarification. This website https://jamarattigan.com/2017/05/09/special-guest-post-deborah-hopkinson-on-inde... is an interview with the author. Using this to build background knowledge will help with this activity. #UCFLAE3414F17 7y
