The Poison Artist
The Poison Artist | Jonathan Moore
An electrifying read I havent read anything so terrifying since Red Dragon. Stephen King"Patient, stylish and incredibly suspenseful"Lee ChildMagnificent, thoroughly unnerving...I dare you to look away." Justin CroninA gripping tale of obsession and deadly mystery, where the secrets of salvation and the most devastating desires are all written in blood Dr. Caleb Maddox is a San Francisco toxicologist studying the chemical effects of pain. After a bruising breakup with his girlfriend, hes out drinking whiskey when a hauntingly seductive woman appears by his side. Emmeline whispers to Caleb over absinthe, gets his blood on her fingers and then brushes his ear with her lips as she says goodbye. He must find her. As his search begins, Caleb becomes entangled in a serial-murder investigation. The police have been fishing men from the bay, and the postmortems are inconclusive. One of the victims vanished from the bar the night Caleb met Emmeline. When questioned, Caleb cant offer any information, nor does he tell them hes been secretly helping the citys medical examiner, an old friend, study the chemical evidence on the victims remains. The search for the killer soon entwines with Calebs hunt for Emmeline, and the closer he gets to each, the more dangerous his world becomes. From the first pages up to the haunting, unforgettable denouement, The Poison Artist is a gripping thriller about obsession and damage, about a man unmoored by an unspeakable past and an irresistible woman who offers the ultimate escape.

#SeptemberDanes #day4 #Poison This book has been on my #MountTBR #doublestuffeddisaster Wall Of Shame since 2016😱 I don‘t know why I haven‘t read it yet, it sounds awesome.I think since Litsy, there‘s been so many new authors, series & editions that catch my eye it‘s been hard to settle on one. Kinda like a goldfish or an ADD child. This has been blurbed by the likes of Stephen King, Lee Child & Justin Cronin so I need to get right on it I think.

Cinfhen This one sounds good! 6y

Mehso-so

Interesting concept. Too repetitive and no character development. A book I didn't really love but had to to keep reading. I didn't see the twist until the last few chapters, which is unusual for me!

RaimeyGallant Sounds like my current read. :) And welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. Didn't enjoy the writing style and it was predictable for me 😓

I gave it 2/5 ⭐

Got this book yesterday!

"The bodies fished out of San Francisco Bay were a puzzle, with no sign of how they had died. The toxicologist Caleb Maddox uncovers an unspeakable horror connecting them all, suggesting the work of a deranged kill.

But there's worse: he's starting to wonder if the mysterious beauty he has become obsessed by could be the link between victims."
