Death at the Alma Mater | 
pickDCI St. Just is investigating a murder at St. Michael‘s College, Cambridge. It‘s a fundraising weekend, which began by feting a group of well-heeled alumni, but ended in murder. The language is a bit colorful for me at times, but I really enjoy how St. Just questions everyone involved, not just eliciting the facts, but probing for perceptions and feelings. How he manages to piece these together results in a surprising resolution to the crime.

mabell My only quibble is that the victim was strikingly similar to that of the last book, Death and the Lit Chick. The murderer‘s identity and motivation is very similar as well, now that I think about it. 3y
