Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct. But political squabbles have a bad habit of dying hard, and the Brazilian probes are still trying to take out the competition. And the Bobs have picked a fight with an older, more powerful species with a large appetite and a short temper. Still stinging from getting their collective butts kicked in their first encounter with the Others, the Bobs now face the prospect of a decisive final battle to defend Earth and its colonies. But the Bobs are less disciplined than a herd of cats, and some of the younger copies are more concerned with their own local problems than defeating the Others. Yet salvation may come from an unlikely source. A couple of eighth-generation Bobs have found something out in deep space. All it will take to save the Earth and perhaps all of humanity is for them to get it to Sol - unless the Others arrive first.

I really love where this goes (bit campy sometimes but…) taking on questions of immortality, stewardship, colonialism, and extinction/extermination. Some might feel it is too light on some of these tough subjects, but taking it for what it is, it allowed my mind to play and wander. Really liked this! What a good listen!

This last 1 brought it all to a great conclusion, but boy am I left STILL wanting more.

For a series at its essence based on the replicated consciousness of 1 man, who lives most of his “life” in VR, I felt for him. Many of his “clones” became great characters in their own right, showing just how human, even non-biological humans can be. I just want to know how they all made out as they developed & grew in different ways & continued to explore.

Thanks you for tagging me @xxjenadanxx #ThoughtfulThursday

1. My nephew is one month clean and sober today!

2. We‘re probably going to be snowed in, so besides shoveling...most likely reading and playing games.

3. Today I‘m reading the tagged book All These Worlds and re-reading Lord of the Rings!

All These Worlds concludes my time in The Bobiverse. The trilogy hits its high point in Book 2 and never really makes it back in the third installment. It was, however, a good ending to a good sci-fi trilogy.
Overall audiobook rating: 3.98

Series rating: 4.18

The 3rd and last book in the amazing Bobiverse series. I will miss this universe, its habitants and The Bob! #Bobiverse #dennisetaylor

A very satisfying end to a quirky but excellent series! These books, for all their lightheartedness, raise questions about technological immortality, what it means to be human, love, loss and possibly most importantly what it means to be an individual. With the Bobiverse Taylor has created an absolute gem of a story and hopefully brought the debate about our future as a species to a whole new audience. Well worth a read folks!.
