Wow! What a life this man has had. Some of his songs were the anthems of my teenage years. I have been lucky enough to see Jimmy Barnes play a few times. He is an incredibly raw and honest performer. His copious drinking was never hidden as he always had a bottle of something with him on stage. The audience were blissfully unaware how out of control his life really was. In this book he doesn‘t hold back about his addictions. A compelling read

How Jimmy survived the abuse and excess that he subjected his body to is anyone‘s guess. Working Class Man tells the story of his success with Cold Chisel and in his solo career. It also details his addictions and self destructive behaviour. Where this book differs from others is, Jimmy is reflective and acknowledges his failings - he is not proud of some of the things he has done but these things have made him who he is.
