What an interesting story! At times I felt like the writing was not very complex, but overall that didn't hinder the tale. The author's note that described Campion's motivation behind the story was a nice touch. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thank you to her for pointing out that history is not kind to women people perceive to having had more than they should. As if a commoner would have had much of a choice in becoming the king's mistress of much influence ... ⬇️
Smangela In his ruling. I feel like she gave a voice to a person we know little about other than the opinion of the men in charge. I was not familiar with this monarchy at all or of Alice Perrars. Glad to step outside the Tudors (although I still love reading of them) for a different narrative. 7y
