I love survival stories, and this one was ok for a middle grade tale. It was fast and action packed, and I think its target audience would probably enjoy it more than I did. For me, there was a lot of eye rolling. I also wonder just how much Jeff Probst contributed to the final product. My guess is not a lot.

Bookzombie It‘s sort of interesting to me that they would use Probst to promote. How many middle graders are like “Cool, a book by Jeff Probst!”? I mean maybe more middle graders watch Survivor than I think. 🤔 1y

Traci1 @Bookzombie yeah it is weird. Honestly, his name made me think here's a gimmick so the book probably isn't that great. And that was pretty much true. That said, there are apparently 6 of these Stranded books (looks like maybe 2 trilogies?), so someone must have thought it was a good Idea I guess. 1y

An amazing book a good fast read it puts lots of pictures in your head and there is a series to the books

MaggieCarr @Tamra be sure to get the trilogy. It was almost like the book was written singularly as 500 pages and they chopped it in 3 to make a series. I've never seen cliffhangers quite so like that in kids books. 4y
