The Princess Diaries: Mia Goes Fourth | Meg Cabot
6 posts | 70 read | 11 to read
Mia Goes Fourth is the fourth title in the unmissable The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot. Mia and Michael are finally an item, but Grandmere seems to have other plans. Just before the happy couple's first hot date, an unmissable royal engagement turns up. Could it be that Michael doesn't measure up - and that (please not!) Grandmere's got someone else in mind for Princess Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo?

In this one Mia is extremely insecure about her new status with Michael. She spends christmas break in Genovia. The whole time she angsts over what to get for his birthday, and what to do when he inevitably dumps her. The amount of times Mia thinks she will get dumped are astronomical. On some level she recognizes how unreasonable her attitude is. She is dating someone 3-4 years older than her, which makes for a huge difference at this age.

Maybe I‘m done listening to the series. This wasn‘t read by Anne Hathaway and, although this narrator was very good, it made a difference for me.

Isn‘t it funny when they change narrators mid-series and it makes a difference about continuing the books? It happened with the Artemis Fowl series, too.

PenguinInFlight I listened to Queen of the Tearling on audio, and then immediately bought the sequel. It has a different narrator, and it was such a bummer. I had come to associate the first narrator as “Kelsea‘s voice” and to hear it from a different narrator really threw me for a loop. 😒 7y
mstaylor_reads I agree! I was thinking the same thing. I‘m listening to Princess in Waiting now missing Anne Hathaway. 😔 6y

I totally loved The Princess Diaries Series and of course the books are much better than the movies.

It makes me giggle so much! Just how in love she is. Haha. Makes me think how silly I was when I was 14...silly and naive.
