I‘m unsure how to review this, other than to say I‘m ambivalent about it and move on. I don‘t think it will be memorable beyond my learning the term “comedy of humors.â€� Perhaps I would feel more strongly if I saw a live production or read it in French. Pictured: Jack, one of the household misanthropes (a quality most apparent in the presence of new noises). I think it‘s a more apt characterization of Finn but he didn‘t care to be in the photo.

This play was a real pleasure to read! I absolutely loved the dialogues. An edition with notes and explanations is highly recommended.

My hate is general, I detest all men;
