Don't give up on politics, sweetheart; don't say nothing you do will make any difference. Things change. Hedged about as we are with snake-tongued bullies and greed-merchants, the main thing is to be braver and speak up.... The heat of the changing world will act on you and you'll rise to it.
Still in NYC but happy to have picked up this lovely & witty book by a British author. Going to look out for more of her story collections in London next week !
The second story is the inner machinations of a nervous husband beleaguered by his role as child caregiver/homemaker in a world where traditional gender roles are reversed. So smart.
My haul from the local independent bookstore semi-annual sale! I laughed out loud in the bookstore while reading the back of the Al Franken book. And, just an FYI: Cockfosters is a station on the London Underground. 😉
