Maika and her companions are being pursued by just about every group imaginable as Maika starts to learn more clues about her family.

The story is really going somewhere now, not just with Maika but with other background characters. There is a lot of politics, propaganda, and warfare mixed with the dark fantasy.

Oh, and there's a talking cat with swords. And an eye patch. I mean, does it get any better than that?🐱🐾⚔️

The world of Maika and Monstress is one rebuilt after war. Or perhaps to say rebuilt is taking it a step too far. The post-war world is contentious and full of fear. The five races are at odds. C'mon Monstress I want to love you as much as I did in the beginning. The artwork is still gorgeous, but there is not enough progress in the story, and I've been feeling it slow down for the last couple of issues. I keep thinking I'm missing something, but I believe it's just that the story is circling itself and not moving forward. #24in48
