A dose of needed wisdom for this morning.
"When you think everything is someone else's fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy."
Notafraidofwords I'm working on that currently and it's so hard. It requires a lot of in depth thinking and reflecting. 8y
saresmoore @Notafraidofwords So true & same here. This author doesn't quite treat the topic with the gravity it deserves, in my opinion. But still the concept of overcoming victimhood is valuable and vital. 8y
Suet624 I definitely have grown into this truth. However, I would argue that it doesn't necessarily bring peace and joy. It just brings on more inner work. 😂 8y

saresmoore @Suet624 Amen to that! I'm still very much growing into this truth, and the process isn't pleasant. 8y
Suet624 Here's the other piece to all this. Sometimes the lesson is to stop being around certain people. That's a truth too. But that can be complicated to explain in a self-help book. 8y
saresmoore @Suet624 So very true. That's the part I feel is missing from this book. Removing oneself from the abusive or parasitic relationship is the first step toward freedom from victimhood in many (if not most) cases, I think! 8y
Suet624 Absolutely. 8y
MyNamesParadise I need this book! 8y
