A queer, working class story told with vim & no pretence. Bucky ris a young man finding his way in Western Sydney - with Greek parents, a controlling boyfriend & a job in aged care. The voice is strong: Bucky is raw & unvarnished. It‘s episodic but the writing propels you along & the story feels urgent & true. This stood out for me - it‘s unlike anything I‘ve read; the relationships w his parents & boyfriend spot on & grittiness true to character.
