I was just in a library for two hours and did I take a picture?! No!!! What sort of space brained Litten am I?! Now my starving stomach, denied breakfast and I have arrived at The College Club for what promises to be a delicious lunch.

J. Ward Howe appears in the upper left quadrant of the rightmost square in the bottom row.

An excellent book detailing the life of Julia Ward Howe, writer of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. It gives insight into how JWH was a modern woman trapped in a society where women had little agency. Her hymn made her incredibly famous for her time and allowed her to break out of a purely domestic world and become a great advocate for women's rights in the late 1800s.

Suet624 I love all the books about women that you've been posting. 8y
