I last read this a couple of decades ago, but it felt like a brand-new read. Kept me turning the pages quickly!

This tale combines two classic tropes, coming of age and the path to becoming a hero. It is the third published book, and a direct sequel to book one, Redwall. But the books are written to let readers can start with any book. If you enjoy reading about a community of characters who are willing to risk their lives to save one of their own, pick up this series.

Mattimeo is the sequel to Redwall, but it isn't quite as riveting as most of the other novels in the series.

With just 7 minutes to get to the 12 hour mark I gave up, for the night, at about 3 am. Not sure if I'll make it but ready to jump back in.
