We‘re looking to have some prof development done w/managers and staff… (lots of change post-2020) & a consultant we talked to rec‘d this book as a starting off place on coaching staff. And that‘s what it is- it‘s designed to be accessible, jargon-less, a bit of humor, & delivers one positive way to coach others. I don‘t think this is the last I‘ll read on the subject, but this was a good way to reinforce prior training/books with practical steps

Suet624 I appreciate working for a company that actually does professional development. 2y
Sarahreadstoomuch @Suet624 we really have a great library director and board of trustees - especially when it comes to training and professional development. I don‘t take it for granted! 2y

Only 23% of people being coached - yes, fewer than one in four - thought that the coaching had a significant impact on their performance or job satisfaction.

I ripped through this book. The science was easy to understand and there were practical exercises to help implement the habits into daily life. I‘m excited to include these in my coaching practice.

One thing I do enjoy about having to drive 4 hours for work meetings is that I get to have some peace and quiet to myself in the car and get to just listen for awhile.

AmyG My favorite thing when I worked was my 1/2 hour drive…listening to audiobooks. I was always thrilled when there was traffic. 😂 (edited) 4y

Reading this book as part of a book club and doing mind-mapping so I can remember the key points. I need to focus on reading more self-development books... It's just that fiction is so much more fun and relaxing especially fantasy!!! 😀🦄 🐲

LoverofLit I really enjoy listening to self help or non-fiction books. I'll rewind and listen again and jot parts down I felt were really informational. 7y

I think there are some nuggets of wisdom in here somewhere, but it really failed to capture my attention.
