This was a cute, fast read. It reminded me of Little House on the Prairie, stories along that vein. I didn't retain a lot of the story, but that's more about me and my stress than about this book. :) #MensaKidsExcellenceInReading K-3

This has been on my shelf since childhood, and I finally read it. It‘s a sweet story of Ann, a girl transplanted from Gettysburg to the Western Country in the very early years of American independence (by Western, think West Virginia). She‘s having trouble adjusting. A short, sweet, historical fiction.
Semi-lazy #readingresolutions catch-up post. #East #West
I read a ton of books by Jean Fritz in 5th and 6th grade. I was homeschooled from 5th grade through the end of high school, and my mom used the local public library a lot, to supplement traditional textbooks/curriculum. That‘s how I found Jean Fritz, who was possibly also my first foray into historical fiction.
