Love Me Back: A Novel | 
pickI have a hard time recommending this as it‘s not enjoyable, but the writing and the characters are so, so powerful. A teen mom waitress struggles to define herself on her own terms and find agency in the service industry, drugs, and men that treat her terribly. Not uplifting. Still worthwhile.
Maybe that's just what it is to be alive, you've got that broken sooty piece of something lodged inside you making you veer left.
This book was gritty, brutal, and written so beautifully. Merritt Tierce just wrote an article for MarieClaire admitting that despite selling 12000 copies and getting rave reviews, she's struggling to pay the bills. Reality check.
Picked this up on the recommendation of someone from here. So far I'm loving it.
pickRaw, devastating, visceral. An unflinching account of one woman's self-destructive patterns and inner anguish. Tierce's writing is sparse, precise and razor sharp: a perfect match for the content.
The writing in this book is so good it's making me giddy. (Admittedly, I almost always love raw, gritty stories like this one.) Thanks for mentioning this one in one of your recent comments, @KiskyLuella!
