When we read headlines screaming about illegal aliens, it's easy to forget that immigrants are real human beings with hopes and dreams who are trying to do their best for their families.

Finally finished my first #fitreaders audiobook for the year! Never too late to start walking!

This story is a very real, very relevant immigrant story. It is 10 years old, but it could have been written yesterday (it does use the terminology "illegal alien" which does date it). But it is told from a voice that is authentic, giving readers the opportunity to feel the realities of her family's struggles and empathize.

I have made the infamous "take care of myself" resolution this year. A couple years ago I started listening to audiobooks while I walked and it was effective (until I got lazy). So i am bringing that back. With some new routines, I fee like this can help keep me on track this year. Here's to new habits in 2017!
