I really liked this one. I particularly liked The Canal Diaries because it made me feel like I was there with her. It really captures the atmosphere and took me back in time.

She also writes a poignant extended poem by her friends hospital bedside, which is powerful but apparently her friend has written her own book on her experiences. I hope I can make time to read it in the future. (A body, undone by Christina Crosby).

From The Canal Diaries.

This Chapter genuinely made me feel like I was sitting next to a gritty, urban canal at night pondering a convoluted love life. Very evocative stuff.

Not as accessible (to me) as some of her other work, and deeply affected by grief. But this one made me smile.
