I haven‘t finished A Charmed Life yet for June #bookspin, but here is my July list minus it anyway.
I read this book for my multicultural resources class. Focusing on the post 9/11 experiences of South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Muslim immigrants in the U.S., this #nonfiction book showcases the challenges they face stemming from racism. The book opens with the 2012 mass shooting at a gurdwara. From the start, the book is honest and unflinching in describing the hate crimes that these immigrants regularly fall victim to. #diversebooks
Reading this one for my in person book club. It focuses on the experiences of South Asian, Muslim, and Sikh Immigrants particularly post 9/11/01.
