These books don't hold up so well historically. Fun plot, but the way the men address and talk about the women is painful to say the least. Can definitely tell it was written in the 70s.
What I did love is the fact that this is the first appearance of Sarah Jane Smith who I love.

Ended up in A and E with both boys today (extremely high temperatures and wheezy chests) littlest now has an inhaler to help his breathing until they fight off this awful virus!
(Book because my parents showed up at the hospital and gave me a small pile of Doctor Who books they'd found in a second hand shop, started this while the boys were sleeping.) Hoping we all get better soon!

Speaking of Sontarans, they used to be pretty great Who baddies before Steven Moffat turned them into comic relief in recent years. Here's hoping we can get a real Sontaran threat again on New Who instead of jokes about them looking like potatoes.
