Book mail is the best mail! And finding a pristine HC copy of one of Maria Tatar‘s annotated books on Abe for $7 makes it even better. I don‘t buy a lot of physical books these days - too hard to hold and the font size, for some reason, won‘t get any bigger no matter how many times I stab the book with my index finger - but I will always buy an annotated Tatar. 🩷💛🩷

Ruthiella I sometimes get annoyed that I have to put a physical book down to look up a word. I have, legit, hovered my finger over the hard copy print for a split second before I realized that wasn‘t gonna work! 😂 2mo

Confession: i did not read the essays at the end - I wasn't interested at this time.

It's a lovely collection of fairy tales and the introductions are terribly interesting. A definite worthwhile read

#fairytales #americanfolklore #mythsandlegends This book is beautifully illustrated, with depictions of characters spanning over 100 years, illustrations showing different interpretations. I've had this for over 10 years and love going through it at this time of year also great is The Penguin Dictionary of American Folklore 📚❤️

readinginthedark I've never heard of that Penguin Dictionary! That sounds awesome! 8y
TheLondonBookworm I'd love a copy of this! Everywhere I travel to I try and find some copy of local myths/legends/ fairytales what ever is on offer! 8y

DeborahSmall @TheLondonBookworm I think I bought this when I was home in Glasgow one weekend 👍🏼 @readinginthedark I bought the dictionary at the best indie bookstore in Belfast, No Alibis, he specialises in crime, noir particularly and also diverse American lit and anything he can find on America that's different 😊. Also a huge range of Neil Gaiman. So my favourite place in Belfast 📚❤️ 8y
readinginthedark @DeborahSmall Wow! That sounds awesome; I've never been to Ireland! 8y
