Just one of the great essays/articles included in the single issue #7. Such a powerful discussion that I think more woman need to have, the Strong Black Woman, or Superwoman myth we strive for, or put on our best presentation of, can in and of itself be very alienating and keep us from asking for and expecting help from others. We can't 'have it all' without help, & expecting woman to do it all without help is a just an unreasonable expectation.

Still a great series, and even better as the single issues with some great additional essays and fan letters.

This series is amazing-it speaks to my feminist soul like nothing else I've ever experienced. Well written, gorgeously drawn, and the supplemental essays and letters from readers at the back of each floppy are worth the cover price all on their own. In short, subscribe! Can't wait for the next one!

My partner got me Vol 1 & BP#7 for my birthday (I'd lent 1-5 to a friend & never gotten them back...). I love this series. It both expresses my own frustrations and draws--literally--a blunt vision of what it's like to be a woman in an anti-woman society. (Also: our coffee table's a wonderful mess.)
