I‘m a latecomer to the writings of Neil Peart. Ghost Rider is the book I was most looking forward to reading. His 19-year-old daughter died in a car accident in 1997. Ten months later, his wife died of cancer. I remember thinking, ‘How does someone survive that magnitude of loss?!‘ Well, Neil tells readers exactly how he survived in Ghost Rider. I love everything about this book.

Sad news today. Lesser known for his writing, but Ghost Rider was one of those books that came into my life exactly when I needed it and I'm forever grateful.

Read this twice now and it‘s a very good read in terms of how one person can overcome so much grief and despair and turn that into a marathon motorcycle trip and come out better. When you consider how he put most of the journey into inspiration for the Rush album, Vapor Trails - you can see how well the two translate together.

I'm going to go a little out of left field for Fun Friday Photo and say Rush drummer, Neil Peart. @Liberty

ssravp His books about his travels while being a part of a touring rock band are some of the best non-fiction that I've ever read. Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road is my favorite of his. So much of how I process sadness and grief came from this book. 9y
