This 80s throwback was cleverly written if you can get past the gruesome 50s pulp fiction description of some scenes. It is also packed with pushing boundaries that are ment to make the read very uncomfortable. It was fun to relive phonebooths, corded phones, Voo Doo hysteria and libraries of books to find information. This can be like a brutal slasher movie with no moral compass. So keep that in mind if you find this antique on a dusty shelf.
Do I have monsters lurking in the cellar of my mind? That is a fabulous question... The human condition is so complex.
I was reading a throwback book from the 80s when I came upon this tidbit. Just WOW...
Enjoying a retro murder mystery in a beautiful space. The thunder overhead is setting the perfect mood. I'd better read quickly.
This doubles as a scary book that deserves more recognition and #creepycovers. It's a graphic police procedural/psychological thriller that I read at an inappropriately young age. I checked it out from the library when I was in middle school, so photo credit here to Goodreads. #scaryreads #AllHallowsRead #booktober
