New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey delivers his next delectable, erotic romance They call themselves the Blackbirds. Kwanzaa Browne, Indigo Abdulrahaman, Destiny Jones, and Ericka Stockwell are four best friends who are closer than sisters, and will go to the ends of the earth for one another. Yet even their deep bond cant heal all wounds from their individual pasts, as the collegiate and post-collegiate women struggle with their own demons, drama, and desires. Trying to forget her cheating ex-fianc, Kwanzaa becomes entangled with a wicked one-night standa man who turns out to be one in five million. Indigo is in an endless on-again, off-again relationship with her footballer boyfriend, and in her time between dysfunctional relationships she purses other naughty desires. Destiny, readjusting to normal life, struggles to control her own anger after avenging a deep wrong landed her in juvi, while at the same time trying to have her first real relationshipone she has initiated using an alias to hide her past from her lover. Divorced Ericka is in remission from cancer and trying to deal with two decades of animosity with her radical mother, while keeping the desperate crush she has always had on Destinys father a secret... a passion with an older man that just may be reciprocated. As the women try to overcome or give into their impulses, they find not only themselves tested, but the one thing they always considered unbreakable: their friendship. From the Hardcover edition.

I love this book! I listened to it on audiobook. I think I felt every emotion at some point while listening. I laughed, mouth dropped on some descriptions etc. I really enjoyed this book. Just a heads up: erotic, urban fiction.

1. I recently saw “Entre nos,” a beautiful movie about a family newly arrived to NYC from Colombia and how they move on when their husband/father abandons them. More in comments.
2. Myspouse and I like to go out to dinner.
3. If I tell you, it won‘t be lucky anymore. 🤪
4. I was reading this for the “cover you hate” task of the #readharder challenge, but I just could NOT get into it.
5. ❤️❤️❤️

Susanita Neighboring county library is running a film series this month featuring some of the languages most spoken in the county after English. (I‘d previously seen “The Shower,” which was the Mandarin selection, and it‘s also very good.) Entre nos was based on the film maker‘s childhood and created as a tribute to her mother. 6y

Mehso-so

This is a girlfriend book full of laughs, sex, love, fights, betrayal, etc. It can be a little over the top at times but it's a fast read and contains lots of sex. If you're used to reading Eric Jerome Dickey novels the sex and dramatics won't be surprises. #erotica #theblackbirds #ericjeromedickey
