I bought some treats for my seventh-graders who did the announcements this week, and when I went back into my office, I found this note on the empty bag. 😂 #LibrariansofLitsy

I forgot to mention: Blame! Is my 'B' for the #LitsyAtoZ challenge put on by @BookishMarginalia 🤓
Blame! feels full of potential with its oppressive atmosphere and cyber-punk aesthetic. The monster designs are fantastic, but his humans are bland, in both design and personality.
Its easy to see this is a very early project by Nihei. His skill, both in illustration and story structure, takes several leaps forward in each subsequent chapter. By the end of the book there was something actually resembling a plot beginning to emerge!
What Nihei lacks in plot he makes up for in cool monster designs and great atmosphere
Even within a few short chapters, or 'Logs', Nihei improves dramatically. You can really tell this was one of his earliest works by the big leaps in the quality of his illustrations and action scenes.
While beautifully drawn, Nihei's gritty style doesn't seem to lend itself to smooth action scenes. It's hard to really tell what's going on with some of these sequences. Maybe it will clear up as the series goes on.
I do love Nihei's ability to create a grim, creepy atmosphere though.
Didn't get a ton of reading done today, but it starts off really interesting. The fight scenes are a bit confusingly laid out but the style is on point.
If you like dark, brutal sci-fi manga and don't have a problem figuring the story out, as there is not much dialoge, you should give this a try.
The new master edition has a great format and wonderful print
I want all mangas printed in this format. 2x the size of a regular manga.
I really like the re-releases of Dark Horse. They have a really high quality😍
So far i have 3 Volumes of Cardcaptor Sakura and now i bought the first volume of Blame! They are so different the only thing they share is that both are manga 😀
