I read my first multiple character perspective book when I was about 9. It was an Andre Norton book and I remember being completely thrown when one chapter began with a completely different character narrating than I had been following up until that point. For my own “sanity” I carefully skipped all the chapters that switched perspective and then went back and reread those chapters.
This story doesn‘t wait until the next chapter. I loved it.
I decide to read this book after a lot of deliberation the other night. It was published in 2003 by TOR. So far, I am only 30 pages into it, and it is lovely writing.
pickThis book was a pleasant read. I really enjoyed that the author kept the character of a #cat truly cat like, even when she was turned into a woman. This is another meta-tale, in that it's a story about a dying woman writing about another woman who she makes real through her writing. It's a good read and does a good job of weaving the characters together. Read if you like cats and are interested in #Japanese mythology. 4/5 stars
