September #Roll100 selections...I'll pull all three but will probably get to only one as I've got quite the load from the library out. May go with “Killing Pablo“ but we'll see what September brings.

Based on a real-life court case and scandal, the film was banned in many countries.
I've enjoyed several of this author's books, including this one. Incredible how long Escobar was able to evade law enforcement. Columbia as a nation-state is completely hopeless.
pickA fascinating, lyrical exploration of violence, depravity, and our penchant for it — both as artists and consumers. As a former filmmaker, I also appreciate the parallels to the film, Cannibal Holocaust, which is understandably divisive.

What the heck did I just read! This book is about the drug cocaine and how it destroys lives and neighborhoods. It is written in the style of The Napping House, where one sentence builds on the next to create the story, and each is repeated when a new sentence is added. There is NO WAY this book would be published today.

With a title like that, how could I not buy it? I‘m using this one for the “South America” prompt in the Reading Around The World Challenge. I love a good travelogue and am dying for an actual adventure, so I‘m excited about this. I hope it lives up to the reviews!

It‘s our 10th wedding anniversary 😮 so I am at a choir meeting for our daughter and quietly scrolling litsy and reading the tagged. He is at home haha.
