Inspired by people and events of history, The Sunflower House was not in and of itself a piece of non-fiction. Despite reading as such, it was infact just a really good novel. I highly recommend the #audiobook.

I read “Anne of Green Gables” for the first time two years ago, and since then, I‘ve become obsessed with everything Lucy Maud Montgomery and Anne Shirley. 💛

Ruthiella Do you know about #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead hosted by @BarbaraJean ? They are all about Anne and LMM! 2w
Mirazzles @Ruthiella no, I didn‘t know anything about that! Thank you! 🥰 2w
BarbaraJean @Ruthiella Thanks for the tag! @Mirazzles We have several parallel LMM buddy reads right now, reading through her complete journals and interspersing re-reads of her novels and related books (ones she mentions in her journals or books that have been compared to her books, etc.) We‘re finishing up Vol. 3 of the journals this week and start Anne‘s House of Dreams next week. You‘re very welcome to join any part of it that catches your fancy! 2w

Mirazzles @BarbaraJean that would be nice! How do I join? Just read and comment ? 🥰 13h
BarbaraJean @Mirazzles I have several tag lists and I can add you to any or all! Then you just read and comment as desired! We have discussions on Saturdays and the pace is roughly 100 pages per week. The overall buddy read is #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead and the tags are: #LMMReread, #LMMJournals, and #LMMAdjacent for books related to LMM and her books. I‘ll go tag you for our current schedule and then also the poll I have up for future #LMMAdjacent books! 13h
Mirazzles @BarbaraJean that‘d be awesome! Thanks so much! 🥰 7h

monkeygirlsmama I just started this one! 1w
SilversReviews @monkeygirlsmama 😊 I hope you like it. 1w
monkeygirlsmama @SilversReviews I did! I know this kind of fiction, inspired by real life -particularly when it comes to the Holocaust and the Hitler era Germany, tends to rub a lot of people the wrong way for some reason. I however, have enjoyed all of the ones I've read. And I liked that this was a completely different kind of story, focused on it from a different angle 5d
SilversReviews @monkeygirlsmama It was different. I liked that too. I‘m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for messaging back that you liked it. (edited) 4d

2/27.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent - you won‘t want to put it down.

We hear the story of Audrey and Kate - 1939 and 2010 as they meet for the first time and learn of each other‘s lives.

Fictionalized story line based on a real person.

A story about loyalty, friendship, and doing what you know is right.

Historical fiction and women‘s fiction fans will adore this book.

You will love both women. 5/5
