Kersplash! A Cloud Bursts
Kersplash! A Cloud Bursts | Jessica Kulekjian
1 post | 1 read
This fun, informational picture book expertly pairs poetry and science to explain how a cloud experiences the water cycle. Heres an innovative story about the water cycle told by a cloud! The cloud describes the process in lyrical prose, complemented by side commentary from a clever bird who fills in the science facts. First, the cloud soaks up moisture, gathering steam from a cup of tea and vapors from salty seas. Then, it becomes full and heavy: its soggy edges bulge. Finally, it BURSTS, creating a rainstorm, punctuated by thunder and lightning. Until, at last, its spent, frizzled, drizzled, drained, leaving only a rainbow. A companion to Kaboom! A Volcano Erupts, Kersplash! A Cloud Bursts is a perfect pick for both interactive science lessons and lively read-alouds!

2 ⭐ This story is about the water cycle. There is a vaguely rhyming story of the cloud telling you the type of mood that they‘re in from beginning to end. But then there‘s also a little red bird telling the reader about the water cycle. The illustrations are interesting but once again nothing amazing or unique.
