Two more from this awesome collection for #scaretober ! Shirley Jackson's "The Tooth" is an immersive, strange story dealing with the many ways women have found themselves as ghosts (and a great 50s/60s tone). And James' "Oh Whistle" is one for a chilly fall night in a closed down resort town. James is great at creating simple yet dreadful images that linger in the mind! (Don't forget our first #ghostsoflitsy discussion, starting tonight!)

Kirstin These are both such incredible stories. 8y
LectricSheep I read "Oh Whistle" the other night out loud to my boyfriend (we've been reading ghost stories for October), and right at the climactic scene my phone buzzed annnnd I screamed and dropped the book. 8y
tricours I found both of these as Audio on Storytel 😍 8y

Zelma When is the next discussion? I couldn't get to the reading for tonight. 8y
brendanmleonard @Zelma it's very loose; I think we're looking at Friday for Young Goodman Brown and Monday for the Angela Carter story. You can pop in and out anytime! 8y
MMenefee @brendanmleonard Oops, I was reading and forgot about the discussion. Where does the discussion take place? 8y
brendanmleonard @MMenefee I will post a post soon! 8y

Fall of Ghosts begins with two stories from this collection. A.S. Byatt's (top) "The July Ghost" is winding, a little confusing, but builds with increasing dread. Philip Graham's "Ancient Music" is sparse, mournful, and elegiac. Both are about grief and its lingering effects. (TW: for the Byatt: child endangerment) Worth checking out! #scaretober #ghostsoflitsy

Based on the response to the #GhostsofLitsy project, I put together a Google form to collate suggestions and ideas! You can fill out the form here, or leave ideas in the comments: https://goo.gl/forms/J2W0TDc4W7gHmh2S2 (This is my first time with Google Forms - so be gentle.) 👍😱👻🌙🌑

LeahBergen Great! I'm going to have to give this some serious thought now ... 🤔 8y
