An intoxicating escape into the cutthroat world of wine and the complicated terrain of women's friendship. What happens when two ambitious young women, opposite in every way, join forces in a competitive male-dominated industry? Wren and Thessaly collide when they land coveted jobs at a glamorous New York City boutique wine importer. Hardworking, by-the-book Wren comes from a modest background and has everything to prove while Thessaly hails from a family of prestigious California growers--but she is plagued by self-doubt. Thrown together at work, where they're expected to have exquisite palates, endless tolerance for alcohol and socializing, and the ability to sell, sell, sell, they regard each other with suspicion. It's only on an important European business trip--with everything on the line for both of them--that they unexpectedly forge an alliance that will change the course of their careers and personal lives. With mouth-watering descriptions of food and wine, Wine People takes readers from France, Germany, and Italy to the Midwest and Sonoma. An utterly entertaining page-turner that explores how close friends can both misjudge and uplift each other.

Rich, meaty, multi dimensional with a going on. Much like a fine class of wine! Excellent character development and growth! This book included a sexy description of a french wine LOL. What happens when you grow together and then grow apart? When you stay in a place, a job, a relationship too long because its comfortable? And what can happen when you leave the comfort zone? This was an exceptional story of an inside look into (cont in comments)...

TheHeartlandBookFairy the wine world. A work of fiction that could easily be imagined as reality. I savored every sip of this book from beginning to end. 1y

A local author event at a wine shop for a book called Wine People. It was so fun and followed by a walk plus ice cream. Books, wine, ice cream. Trifecta. Though I had a craft soda, I feel like child, I really don‘t enjoy wine :( but good company?! That I enjoy! 5 ⭐️

Christine I really wanted to see the photo when you first posted this! Glad it‘s showing up now. What a fun event! 1y
peaKnit @Christine thank you, I am not sure what happened but I could not see anyone‘s pictures for a bit, thanks! It was fun! 1y
