Out of Nowhere
Out of Nowhere | Sandra Brown
5 posts | 4 read | 2 to read
#1 New York Times bestselling author Sandra Brown returns with a fast-paced, emotional thriller where the lives of a young mother and a high-rolling consultant collide under devastating circumstancesculminating in a desperate manhunt that will change their futures forever. At a Texas county fair, amidst carousels and a bustling midway, childrens book author Elle Portman is enjoying a rare night out with her favorite cowboy: her two-year-old son, Charlie. But just as theyre about to head home, the unthinkable happens: a shooter opens fire into the crowd, causing widespread panic to erupt all around them. Also caught in the melee was corporate consultant Calder Hudson. Arrogant, self-centered, and high off his latest career win, hes frustrated and confused when he wakes up in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery on his arm. The doctor tells him that he was luckythat as far as gunshot wounds go, he pulled through remarkably well. Others werent so lucky, which instills in Calder a furious determination to get justice . . . a goal shared by Elle. Their chance encounter at the police station leads to a surprising and inexplicable gravitation to one another, but even as the attraction grows, Elle and Calder cant help but wonder if the unimaginable tragedy that brought them together is too painful and too complicated to sustainespecially while the shooter remains at large. Includes a Reading Group Guide.

Mehso-so

I won‘t say that this was bad, it just wasn‘t her best. Especially after her last few made me cry, gasp and scream, this one was meh. The reveals weren‘t gasp-worthy, I could see them from a mile away. What was supposed to be ‘shocking‘ was revealed in such a blasé way and dealt with in a page, felt like it was put there to keep the reader awake. It didn‘t feel like Brown. It was entertaining. I still read it in a day. But not the best.

⭐️⭐️.5

StellaDz @CoverToCoverGirl I‘m curious if it‘ll read better to you! 2y
CoverToCoverGirl Mom still has my copy. I so anticipate her books every year! I‘ve got my fingers crossed that I won‘t be too disappointed if it‘s not up to her usual standard. 2y
StellaDz @CoverToCoverGirl it was totally still enjoyable, but after her last stellar few, I felt it wasn‘t ‘current Brown‘. She will still totally be an auto-buy! 2y

CoverToCoverGirl I bought the new Sandra Brown book, then my Mom dropped by and I gave it to her to read first… what was I thinking?!🤦🏼‍♀️🤭 2y
StellaDz @CoverToCoverGirl oh no! I just finished it! Gonna let it sit overnight before I review! 2y
