16 year old Niko Amory has never had it easy. Not since he witnessed a murder at the age of 5, manipulation and lies now running at the core of his families beliefs, alcohol seeming like a good solution until he can't function without it and has the oh shit moment all over again. Yet the addiction still seems better than the constant bloodshed and fighting in both his day to day life as well as world around him where a simple lie or mistake can lead to death in an instant. Belief fights desire in a neverending war, and even with all that things still get worse with a knock on the front door from no stranger and a demon calling out to Niko for his soul. For a journey he never wanted in the middle of a battle that looks impossible to escape. But if everything really does happen for a reason, maybe it is still possible. Maybe the battle can be won, the trauma someday healed and long lost relationships rejoined, new ones made. Or maybe the darkness will rein supreme... But one will only know for sure after the war is truly finished. If a war in one's mind can ever truly end.
