Ooh, this was a good thriller. Regan Merritt‘s 10 year old son was murdered a year ago. The official FBI theory is that her job as a US Marshal had put him at risk. Regan‘s marriage to Gary didn‘t survive the tragedy. The man arrested for the crime was murdered in prison. Her friend, and former boss has been investigating, and just as he uncovers an alternate theory, he‘s murdered. The truth is very twisty, and leads directly to Gary‘s law firm.

In the first book of this series; we know that Regan Merritt has lost her son but the mystery at play doesn‘t deal with that. This second book is all about her son and finding out who had her son killed and whether she was the intended victim. And wow, what an interesting and twisty path this takes. I was hooked.
