This is a sweet, uncomplicated mystery set in a small village in Wales with a lovely widowed sleuth and a victim many people in town aren‘t sorry to see turn up dead. It‘s occasionally a tad twee and events are incredibly unlikely but it‘s an easy and pleasant enough read. My library cart collapsed under all of the books stacked in and on it (is this just a me problem?) and in clearing it out, as I decide what to do about the displaced books, I found this cozy mystery I bought for my mom for Christmas. It should hit all of her sweet spots: gentle mystery, England, an older woman from a Lake Michigan hometown. And of course I need to pre-read it (as well as the other Christmas presents the collapse uncovered).

Pickpick

The latest Isabel Puddles has her hopping across the pond to visit Teddy in Cornwall and it is just lovely. Sprinkled with info some Americans might not know from Bob‘s your uncle to the different ways to eat your scone (the Queen has them the Cornish way), this was a delight all around. Can‘t wait to see Teddy back in America!
